Oh, maaaan I want a wireless keyboard. What kind of chair is it? I really like the looks/description of it and ours needs replacing. I used to use a kneeling chair---got one of the first at the Puyallup state fair back before I went to New York. It was great for my back, but screwed up other parts of my pelvis. Hated to give it up, but I still have problems.

Give your mum a squeezin' for us. (as my mum used to say)

Hmm...I have a very large black cat between me and the screen and kneading my stomach. Sure hope I'm typing what I think I'm typing.

Thanks for the fabulous plug, Lynn!

SWORD OF THE DRAGON is available from Amazon and other online sellers, as well as direct from the publisher, Stone Arch Books (a division of Capstone). It's part of their DC Superheroes series. (http://www.capstonepub.com/product/9781434219794) The publisher's primary market is schools and libraries, so DRAGON won't be showing up at the local B&N anytime soon. (Nor on Kindle, as far as I know. Sorry Elaine!)

It was a fun project and I got to write a classic Wonder Woman story -- the character I grew up reading.

Thanks again for the shout out, Lynn!

And no one wants to be reminded about mortality!

The chair is even better now that the chair tech called and guided me through the "forward tilt" process. "Lean back gentle, then release lever D" Ha! I had to brace one hand on the wall, lock my ankles around the table leg, and lean back as hard as I could while grappling with Lever D to make it work...but now it's just about perfect!

No kidding, that stretch of 441 always makes me nervous and doubly nervous on behalf of everyone I know who lives in Imperial Terrace. Dad says they had only one fatal crash since they six-laned it. I think there've been more, but he's probably right. When it comes to Imperial Terrace, he's still the official memory. He just guaide the Tavares city council down Memory Lane, successfully reminding them of their promise to keep the retention ponds clear. His next campaign is going to be for a traffic light at the entrance -- a decision he'd reached before Mom's accident -- we all figure that, by definition, the new day-surgery center that's going to use the Imperial Terrace driveway is going attract more than its share of distracted drivers.

I hope he wins....

I'm undoubtedly biased, but I'm inclined to think that Mom's accident was more carelessness and inattention than an aging-specific problem. She's always been a very good, very careful driver. I think no small amount of her distress is getting a moving violation after sixty-odd years of spotless performance. Like you, I ruined my permanent driving record at an early age. When I reminded her of my early failures, we both laughed and the overall tension level fell quite a bit.

Thank goodness you mom is OK!!! I have nightmares about that stretch of road. Ed and I very nearly bought it ourselves there about five years ago when they were doing construction; we made our left in heavy traffic (at night) to the median, as usual; just when we got there, we realized that the median had been temporarily obliterated, and we'd turned directly into oncoming traffic. It was a miracle that we weren't hurt; I swear some days, I can still hear that one car screeching to a halt w/in inches of us. Why they haven't installed a light there at Imperial Terrace, I can't imagine. The thought of my grandma having to traverse that every time she wants to go to Leesburg sets my teeth on edge. Yikes!!! Anyway, be sure to give your mom a hug from us (and one for your dad and you too, while you're at it).
